A free worksheet to guide your team through year-end reflection

As the year comes to a close, we feel a natural desire to pause for reflection, celebration, and learning. Let’s take advantage of this.

Research tells us that when we intentionally pause to reflect and learn from past experiences, we feel more confident and competent moving forward. I want you and your team to feel confident and competent going into 2024, so I’m sharing a tool to help.

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Click here to download your free copy of the reflection worksheet.

Step 2: Schedule a one-hour team meeting.

Step 3: Facilitate the meeting using this structure:

  • 7 minutes: Quietly complete page 2 of the worksheet (“Looking back at 2023”)

    • Pro tip: Play some chill instrumental music in the background.

  • 10 minutes: Discuss in triads (3 minutes per person—use a stopwatch to guide equal talking time)

  • 7 minutes: Quietly complete page 3 of the worksheet (“Looking forward to 2024”)

  • 10 minutes: Discuss in triads (3 minutes per person—use a stopwatch to guide equal talking time)

    • Again, queue chill instrumental music.

  • 1 minute: Invite team members to quietly identify two things from each page they’d like to share with the full group.

    • If you have a large team, reduce this to one item per page.

  • Remaining time: Go around the room and have each person share.

    • Pro tip: If in-person, form a circle with no tables in between to heighten the sense of connection and openness built through this exercise.

Don’t miss the opportunity to guide your team through impactful year-end reflection and connection this December.
