Hi, I’m Abbey.

Corporate leader turned consultant, and on a mission to create healthier, happier workplaces—one manager and one team at a time.

One-Minute Resume

The beginning.

MY FIRST LOVE: FINANCE

With a fresh Business Finance degree in-hand, I spent my first few years in a variety of corporate finance roles. Truth is, I love numbers and a good spreadsheet. Though I wish I could be more spontaneous and whimsical, 99% of my decisions are backed by intense analysis and a heavy dose of hard data (just ask my go-with-the-flow husband). You’ll see this passion for data at work in the evidence-based frameworks I teach today.

MY TRUE LOVE: EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT

After a few years in finance, I pursued my passion for developing people and spent the next 10+ years in Fortune 50 talent development. I worked with some of the most talented and heart-driven people I know, designing impactful leadership development programs that changed lives and the business.

The present.

MY FOREVER LOVE: LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL

Though I genuinely loved my corporate job, I left on a mission to help organizations of all sizes equip and grow their leaders and teams; and to design a work-life balance that better aligned with my values and goals. Today I’m a trainer, coach, and speaker who passionately serves clients committed to creating healthier, happier workplaces—workplaces where employees feel connected to each other and to their work.

Beyond work.

I’m the luckiest. Wife to the handsome guy I met in high school English class—the best man I know, who brings both the steadiness and fun to our family. Mom to two amazing girls whose courage, creativity and optimism teach me new things daily.

Together, we’re soaking up life’s big and small adventures with a community we love.

Two-Minute Soapbox

I’ve learned a thing or two while training and coaching hundreds of managers over the years. Despite different backgrounds, seniority levels, industries and functions, managers have a lot in common…

Nearly every single manager wants to be a great leader for their team.

Truly, they do. And they willingly sacrifice blood, sweat and weekends trying to make it happen. The 110% effort they give goes largely unnoticed—most employees don’t know half of what’s on their manager’s plate. But their shortcomings? Those are on full display as the expectations increase and grace for mistakes decreases in leadership. They’re striving to shift away from doing the work toward leading the work, but the transition from player to coach is no walk in the park. They often doubt themselves, but keep it quiet. Burnout is near, but they hang on by sheer will and the hope of making an impact.

Leadership is hard. The pressure is on. The stakes are high. And the battle feels lonely. I deeply admire those who choose it (for the right reasons, of course).

And that is why I do what I do. Great leadership makes all the difference. The way employees feel about their work is HEAVILY influenced by the way they feel about their manager. Managers deserve more help. They need some quick-to-absorb and easy-to-apply best practices that will make them more confident and capable. They need ready-to-go resources that will help them invest in and develop their people. They deserve full access to tools that will enable them to become the great leader they’re working so dang hard to be.

I’m all in. Are you?
